He became synonymous with speed. It was commonplace for policemen to ask speeding drivers if they thought they were Stirling Moss . I did hear that one policeman asking the question was met with the response “Well Yes I Am actually “ as they had indeed stopped Sir Stirling Moss.

Sir Stirling Moss was absolutely awesome. He has been extremely underrated.
