The mountain is absolutely massive! We skirt it going across the Island. Hubby has been up to stargaze but I don't do mountain roads.

It is no longer dormant. We were there around Christmas time and drove to the top where the international observatories are located and the mountain was covered with snow. One can ski at the top then drive down to the beach and swim/surf within an hour. It’s incredible!
