What do Spanish people eat with each clock bell strike at midnight of December 31 to welcome the New Year?

i discovered this last new years, spend it in Lima , Peru with my girlfriend's family. also i have never see so many fireworks all over the city, looked like a civil war haha

My English great grandmother used this tradition in Rio de Janeiro, we eat 12 grapes in consecutive, and for each grape a sip of champagne. As you eat, you make your new year’s wishes

Considering how quickly one chime follows another, I would recommend small grapes!
