They don’t really talk about how Richard Carpenter was up late one night & saw the commercial. He recognized how great the song was and immediately sought out the rights to make it. His arrangement of it for Karen’s voice was nothing less than genius. Of course, it was that MAGNIFICENT voice of hers that touched any soul that heard it. One of my all-time favorite groups.
