Awesome band, phenomenal concerts & tremendously sad tragedies. So so much for one band to endure.

They are the crown jewel of Jacksonville, FL. I had just arrived at work in 1977 when I heard of the plane crash on the radio. It was a solemn day. They have made Jacksonville proud.

I saw them when I was in highschool mid seventies at KU in Lawrence, KS at Hoke auditorium. Great music and affordable times for all. Grateful to have these memories to fall back on in times like these.

I saw Lynyrd Skynyrd at the Terrace Ballroom in SLC UT in 1975. It was a tiny place for people to go dancing, and the stage was only 2 feet off the floor. There was no seating, just stand or lean. I couldn't believe they got Skynyrd. I made my way to the front, and ended up right in front of Allan Collins. The sound was outstanding. I was lucky enough to see great bands like The Who, but this concert in this tiny place, so close to Ronnie and the others, was the best concert I ever saw.

A question similar to this came up during a random trivia game at my school, and I was the ONLY student who knew. Parents, please introduce your kids to the GOOD music XD

Ronnie Van Zant's Gold a Platinum record awards, were kept at his parents house, an undaunting, small house, that you'd never suspect had those type of things in there. PS. I was there back in the late 80's....
