Faith O'Beirne, A few years ago, I had a spider in my ear!!!! AARRGGHH. Ooh it was awful, I could hear it walking around, it scratched my eardrum.. I went to the hospital, while I was waiting to be seen, the spider came out of my ear on its own... It was NOT a pleasant experience!! 😏

nimblemoon, its it's a jumping spider. they really do look like that. so cute. I save all spiders,bees and all insects. everything has a purpose in life

nimblemoon, that's a jumping spider. While a lot of spiders are aggressive, jumping spiders are very curious and timid. I used to do a lot of macro photography of them, and they were always fun. The fluffy puppies of the spider world.

K9Queen , Agreed! Still can't sit through the whole Arachnophonia movie after my first viewing in a cold sweat...but jumping spiders are cute. I find black widows around unused lumber or equipment in my tools he'd alot. Yuck.

nimblemoon, I'm getting one tomorrow and I'm pretty excited. They're friendly and extremely intelligent. They have the ability to bond with you. The only downside is they only live about 2 to 3 years. Well in captivity, they generally don't live much longer than a year in the wild.

I used to have extreme arachnophobia also but I found videos of a lady that keeps different jumping spiders as pets. Her videos of her little pet jumping spiders got me over my extreme phobia. Still not a fan of most spiders but the jumping ones are cute and I no longer run screaming when I see other kinds. Arachnophobia is still the scariest horror movie ever made!
