When we went to Italy last year, we caught a train from Naples to Sorrento on our way to Amalfi. The police guarding the station warn us not to display anything of value as there were lots of pickpockets and sure enough my son was almost a victim. It was our first time, it was a very eerie feeling.

When we went to Sorrento , we landed at Naples airport then had a 3 hour coach drive to our hotel. what a long day from getting up at 2am but well worth it. Italy is beautiful

Naples..Napoli....the pickpockets' paradise.
Beautiful city and the opera house tour is a must.....but keep close watch on your wallet and passport.
Best thing is to keep virtually everything in your hotel room safety deposit box.

Spent 3 weeks in Naples. Unbelievable place! Driving is insane, pizza is so-so, Pompeii breathtaking and beautiful around the Mediterranean. I was very fortunate to be with an Italian who took me with him to buy, and then argue over the price of grapes he bought to make his own wine and he showed me the prison Sophia Loren was in for tax evasion.

In 2001 I went on a cruise around Italy, including Naples, such a beautiful place and is also where the chef Gino D Campo comes from
