You have to be Australian to know that

I live in Victoria, Australia and still had to use a hint. Probably 98% of Australians would not know what all of the state representatives are, in terms of flora and fauna.

UP THE BLUES, Can't know everything about where one lives. I'm in Connecticut, USA. There are people who have lived here their entire lives yet don't know that the Connecticut River doesn't start here, merely runs through the state. And Australia is VASTLY larger than Connecticut so don't feel too guilty. :)

They are native on the east coast of Australia but in Western Australia they have been introduced to the state, so technically they are a feral animal in WA.

these days we are meant to say "oh, aren't snakes good, part of the natural ecosystem...." Kookaburras, King Fisher's in general, keep the snake population down, and the rodent population. Best of both worlds. Also, an iconic sound (can sounds be iconic), that, when I hear it, I know I am in Australia.

l live in NSW and I got it wrong.
