He does look very unhappy. I'm bothered by this sight. It looks like they are abusing it for experimental purposes and keeping it from having interactions with other living animals. Horses and donkeys are very social animals and thrive having interactions with each other just like us humans need interactions with other humans and way more than you would think.That's how we grow and thrive, etc
