I've never understood the logic behind the idea that the earth is flat. After all every other planet we can see is round.

I was told if you saw the earth without the oceans it has four "corners" - i.e. mountainous protrusions under the water. This introduces a slight wobble to its position. This was when we went to the prehistoric tomb at Newgrange, In Ireland, to explain why the Sun's rays no longer light up the main chamber at the Winter Solstice, only the entrance. But the promised that in a few hundred years to be do it properly.
