What is 'preeclampsia' associated with?

For two years I worked in OB/GYN and we had a few ladies with this issue. They were heavily monitored and sometimes had to have a C-section. The US has a very high mortality rate with pregnant women for some very odd reason. Not acceptable in this day and age.

Sounds like a terrible and worrying condition facing pregnant mums to be and new mums. Thank heavens we now have the knowledge and health care to prevent deaths.

Arohanui, not fun at all! I had it also, spent 2 weeks in the hospital and daughter was delivered via c-section 6 weeks early.

My daughter lost her life due to pre-eclampsia and a dismissive doctor.
