Shoelaces date back to which period in human history?

I had 4 younger siblings and it was big deal when they learned to tie their own shoes. Such a right of passage. I guess because they felt they "weren't babies" anymore.

My youngest brother was in the same room with me when I heard him gasp. He was 4 years old and so intently focused on tying his shoes he was holding his breath!🥰

I like shoelaces too! I wonder how long it took them to learn to tie their shoes?
