What is the translation of the word "esperanto", the most widely spoken constructed language?

Like the Spanish word Esperanza, which means hope.

There was a movie starring William Shatner with Esperanto in the 1970's. Doubt it was well received.

I think of Rich Text Format as esperanto for PCs.
