I was watching The Antiques Roadshow this evening and there was a lovely gentleman on who is 100, and the last surviving Battle of Britain pilot. It was great to see that although his speech was a little slow this horrible illness had given him a bodyswerve and his mind was as sharp as a pin.

My Mum was dx when she was 61, she got her angel wings when she was 71. It is an insidious disease, harder for patients in the 1st few stages where they have lucid periods when they remember how they used to be, but so hard on family in the last few stages. Just please remember that they are still your Mum/Dad/Grandparent etc so keep treating them as a loved family member and have patience.

If it's one organ that shouldn't have gotten diseases is the brain. And it's not even a mild you'll be fine disease, it's one of the worst ones that exist. I would rather get any disease anywhere else in the body but not the brain
