What is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes occurs in autumn called?

The San Francisco Bay Area has it's best weather in September and we call it Indian summer.

i am 1/2 city indian.my own thought is god gave us a summer extension before harsh cold winter weather.

We have that kind of summer in Serbia, as well, and call it Miholjsko leto ( Miholis’ summer)
