Correct answer: Marmalade

I like lime marmalade. I assume Paddington bear has orange marmalade in his sandwiches.

Tom
Tom, I heard similar except it was Mar (sea) Malade (sickness) french. Because it was supposed to be a cure for sea sickness, motion sickness.
However, even when I was told this, I was told it was wrong, apocryphal.

Marmalade (like orange marmalade) has delicious little bits of the fruit skin or rind in it. Because the skin, or just under the skin, is where pesticides tend to accumulate, I only eat organic marmalade.

I am not a number.
Tom, it is indeed apocryphal and even then said to be for Mary, Queen of Scots. In fact marmalade is recorded in the English language as early as the fifteenth century, borrowing from French.

I am not a number.
Player #3508501, it's not named after a king but it's named after the 4th Earl of Sandwich, John Montagu,

I knew it wasnt sandwich because I remember reading a story to my students about how sandwich is named after a king.

Tom
I read that marmalade is a derivation of Marie malade and was invented for Marie Antoinette when she was ill and fed up of eating cake. Might be apocryphal.
