I understand that Jains would not eat plants like potatoes or carrots because to pull up the whole vegetable would in effect kill the plant. Therefore beans, corn, etc would be OK!

Some Hindus also follow veganism. When Hindus practice veganism they become ovolactovegatarians. If they do eat forms of meat, they don't eat beef, lamb, or pork, and allow themselves fish or shrimp.

Player #21173880, I knew a Jain many years ago and he ate meat, including pork. He said they did not use utensils, however, preferring to eat w/their hands. It embarrassed him to eat with others, however, since he did not know how to use a knife, fork, or spoon.
