My grandmother was on the Carpathian, the ship that rescued people from the Titanic. She, her sister, & their mother shared their stateroom with Mrs. Astor. She was so grateful that later she invited them to her N.Y. mansion.

I also am a Titanic enthusiast. A great book is A Night to Remember by Walter Lord. I have been to the cemetery in Halifax where many are buried. So many graves are unidentified. Cemetery is well maintained though.

My daughter is a Titanic enthusiast. We have seen replicas and gift shops in Ohio, Florida, Las Vegas, and Dallas, Tx. We've enjoyed a pint in the Grapes Pub in South Hampton, England, where the Titanic crew was there the night before they sailed. We'd like to go to Nova Scotia, where some from the wreck are buried.

I heard that the Titanic was an icebreaker, meaning that it could break through an iceberg, the problem was that the crew, on seeing the iceberg panicked, tried to avoid it and the side of the ship hit the iceberg causing the damage. Apparently what they should have done was steer the ship straight at the iceberg as it would have cut through it. Unfortunately the Captain was unavailable, as he knew this information

I live in Southampton, England. There's a pub called the Titanic where some of the crew stayed the night before sailing for NY, and if you go to Dock 11, there are still two bollards painted orange that the Titanic was moored to.

I agree with many people about the Titanic sinking, it's such sad and tragic story and just imagen loosing your life on a ship which your supposed to have the time of your life on. However, despite this, it's became one of the most loved story and movie of all times. Many people say that it's a great movie but the ending is sad, maybe I'll watch it.
