Paprika is made out of hot peppers not the fruit, and is used widely in Eastern Europe. It pears well with stews, beans, marinated meat, etc.

I make Hungarian GULYÁS LEVES once a month. Origin: gulya = herd of cows, gulyás = sheperd or of the sheperd, leves = soup in Hungarian. We put beef, paprika, salt, pepper, onion, garlic, potatoes & carrots in the original version. ❤
