[bobbo16], because of the industrial revolution it lead the way in engineering the rest is history .wish we still were self sufficient the worse thing we did was join Europe we seemed to stop producing products and buying them instead we need to start producing again.

I should also add to my comment the East Indian company that were it seems very corrupt and the fat cats that made money from the poor I was not suggesting going back to victoriana times just being more self sufficient in these more educated times would be good. I hate the throw away society that we have become. every time I have my boiler serviced they try to talk me into buying a new one when my old one is still good .
