Which bird is the closest relative of dinosaurs?
Correct answer: Chicken

I am not a number.
How did the chicken get here if there weren't any roads to cross at the time?

Andrew
Thank goodness chickens don't look anything like the artists impression

That Cøunt, Ray Bumpkin
This answers the age-old question: which came first, the chicken or the egg.
Dinosaurs had eggs and then chickens evolved.

If it were an option, I would've said Cassowary-they're very dinosaur like, especially their temperment

Lionessa
Crocodilians are not dinosaurs, they are reptiles. Dinosaurs were reptiles. Both are descended from a group called Arcosaurs. Arcosaurs also include Pterosaurs and modern birds. The Arcosaurs group split into two lineages. One line evolved into Dinosaurs, Pterosaurs, and Birds. The other became Crocodiles and Alligators.

Blooply, Not all dinosaurs became extinct (crocodiles for one) a lot of smaller dinosaurs and other reptile like creatures survived. The tuatara of NZ for example. A lot of the birdlike small dinosaur fossils exhibiting true feathers that they are finding in China are filling in the evolutionary gaps.
