I remember seeing pictures of babies in orphanages. They had had so little interaction from those who were supposedly looking after them that they were terrified if someone wanted to give them a loving cuddle, and they had never had toys so were frightened of the likes of teddies as they didn't know how to play with them. They had really just been put in cots and fed enough to keep them alive. It was totally heartbreaking to see.

When Eastern European countries were revolting against Communist regimes, they almost all had bloodless revolutions. The exception was Romania, who executed Ceausescu.

Ceausescu. It’s spelt Ceausescu. Why is the first ‘s’ missing in all but one instances of the name?
