I had white-blonde hair as a child but it turned 2-tone strawberry blonde as I got older. I have the recessive red-gene &, like my mum, can't colour my hair because it throws the red. No matter what colour I use it goes red! There's Scottish on both sides of the family so I guess that's where it come from (although I'm born & bred Aussie).

I have been Strawberry blonde since birth, except for the horror DIY hair colours that always seem to react to the Red!! My dad is a redhead & his brother & 1 of my brothers. 2 of my brothers have redhead kids & 1 of my daughters is Strawberry blonde with blue eyes. We are all Australian!
