Long ago,when I was a kid, green tree frogs would congregate in the laundry of our old Queenslander house, often acrobatically balanced in a row on the washing line. If you squeezed them they would release a gush of water from their posterior so were often used as de facto water pistols by the local kids. I certainly had no idea how cruel it was then and when I think about it, it is certainly my generation of baby boomers who put the amphibian in jeopardy .
