Not much has changed. There are still wild animals kept in captivity to this day. I understand that some shouldn't be released because they are blind, or disabled in some way, and would not survive in the wild, but they should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity because if it. I lived in Bridgeport Connecticut where Barnum wintered elephants at seaside park and been to Barnum Museum many times , their are photos of Barnum and elephants marching down Stratford Avenue and for those who didn't know P. T. Barnum was mayor of the Park city Bridgeport Connecticut!
