Why would they purposefully not mention his death at 22 - in a plane crash (along with Ritchie Valens, and "The Big Bopper" J. P. Richardson)? He is so iconic and the reference Don McLean made in "American Pie" is classic.

Listen to his music, then listen to early Beatles. It's obvious who the Beatles borrowed from. The Beatles also borrowed their harmonies from the Everly Brothers. Buddy Holly was an ORIGINAL.

Country, Gospel, and R&B influenced so much of popular music in the 20th century and continues to do so today. Elvis is probably the most famous artist, who like Holly drew inspiration from those genres. Some of the artists who were inspirational never really got the credit they deserved. Presley himself was boycotted by some White stations because he "sounded Black." Yes, in the 1950s South, segregated radio was a thing.

Certainly NOT A BOOMER or even GenX - RICK-N-BACHER. The piece needs some human editing!
