According to the proverb, which month 'comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb?

I have also heard the reverse of this; March comes in like a lamb and goes out like a Lion. It is a real possibility in Canada, especially on the Prairies.

I think this should be qualified to “Which British proverb…….”
