Re the above 'so debate': Thus... may one suggest an alternative/synonym no less displeasing perhaps for 'so'? or how about 'whence' or 'wherein', 'thereof, it follows...' And, there are plenty more contenders, such that 'so' ...might just do the job after all ;-)) So, (sigh...) thou art forgiven, after all (heh heh).

Arohanui, very possibly learned from their childhood maths & science teachers. It is a common practice in maths and science to make an argument using IF, AND, THEN and So. IF .. AND ... THEN ... So ... Making the sentence beginning with So an affirmative statement that is indisputable.
