The Amber Room's disappearance during World War II is one of the world's greatest unsolved mysteries:
Looting: In 1941, Nazi forces looted the Amber Room from the Catherine Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Transportation: The Nazis dismantled the room, packed it into crates, and transported it to Königsberg Castle in what was then Germany.
Storage: In early 1944, the room was disassembled and crated for storage in the castle basement as Allied forces closed in on Germany.
Destruction: In August 1944, Allied bombers destroyed Königsberg/Kaliningrad, and documentation of the room's location ends there.
Fate: The room's eventual fate and current whereabouts remain a mystery. Some theories include that it was destroyed, hidden in a secret bunker, or shipwrecked in the Baltic Sea.
Reconstruction: In 1979, the former USSR began reconstructing the Amber Room at the Catherine Palace in Pushkin. The reconstruction took 23 years and is on display today.
On 1st October 2020, according to The Guardian, Polish divers "found" remains of the Amber Room somewhere in the Baltics Sea. (This means they found some clues/evidence that can help solve the mystery/lead to solving the mystery, not exactly concluded)

Watched a show about this. They think it was on a ship that was sunk in the North Sea. Still haven't found it but maybe...? I'd love to see this recreation.
