Cats, believe it or not, can also be terribly loyal. I had Caliby (Calico/tabby mix) who was 8lbs soaking wet. She took on a 25lb raccoon because she thought it might hurt me! I was amazed. Other than a few scratches, my Mowgli was okay.
She used to always cuddle with me when I was 6. And when my other cat, Maggie T passed, Mowgli waited for her at the sliding glass door for 2 months. It was the first time I'd known a cat to mourn the loss of a fellow cat.
But NINE YEARS waiting for one's owner, is AMAZING. I'll have to watch the movie and get out the Kleenex.

Another dog was just as loyal and that dog was Grayfriars Bobby. Dogs as well as other pets give you absolutely unconditional love. Us , as humans can seriously learn from them.

This reminds me of Argos and Ulysses
Argus was a puppy,
Frisking full of joy.
Ulysses was his master,
Who sailed away to Troy.
Argus was on the seashore
Watched the shps white track,
And barked a little puppy bark
To bring his master back.
Argus was an old dog,
Too grey and tired for tears,
He lay outside the housedoor
And watched for twenty years.
When twenty years were ended
Ulysses came back from troy.
Argus wagged an old dogs wag,
And then he died for joy.

Joy, myself also. I almost never cry over movies but I did when I saw the English language movie. "Old Yaller (sp?) was the other movie.

Growing up I had two Amazon yellow nape parrots. When Paco died unexpectedly one night, we woke up the next morning to find Julio sitting next to him on the bottom of their cage. They formed such a loving bond and Julio refused to leave Paco’s side until we lovingly removed him from the cage. I’m still crying just remembering this very sad goodbye.

This is a very touching story. The thing that I don’t understand is, why didn’t the family let this poor dog see his masters deceased body? The dog would have grieved and moved on and not go to the train everyday of his life going to the train to meet him.
Cat Mom
