As a Canadian,I am very proud of our money. Each bank note is a different colour and is extremely easy to teach to our little ones. We do have $1,2 coins. My making the lower denominations into coins, it saves Canada a great deal in replacement costs. At one time we had a green $1,and a light brown $2.

to add to the currency info, the 1$ coin has a loon ( waterfowl similar to a duck, with a haunting call), & the 2$ coin a polar bear, except when they issue comemerative ones..

David, the Cdn new bills are plastic and those of us in the habit of folding them into a pocket learned that they will work their way out! But they do last!
