How many times did William Jennings Bryan run for U.S. President as the Democratic Party nominee?

I did a report on Bryan when in school. They need to make a good movie about him. He was such an intelligent person who had guts.. the speeches he made were amazing . To much has been printed about his later life. He was such an influencer earlier in life.
