My husband is from Scotland and every year makes trifle. He is never 100% happy with it, but we all love his attempt.

I made a port trifle for the office Christmas party one year only to hear my workmates saying they thought trifle was boring.
However, when I spooned out a serving and the smell of the port spread I was suddenly surrounded by people wanting some, I never got to taste my own creation.

I love sherry trifle made from scratch but I also like the birds trifle that comes in a box with trifle fingers and you made the jelly, custard and cream from the packets. I'd eat the whole bowl myself
