Who is the author of the series "Harry Potter" books?

JK Rowling literally went from rags to riches. One of the great authors ever. She also got lots of young adults to like reading and that in itself is a great accomplishment.

everyone should read the book. if you enjoy the movies, you will enjoy the books. both are great but the books provide more depth to the story and reading after watching allows you to use the actors and actresses and movie sets as reference.
