Which of these is a variant of motorsport road racing with open-wheel, known as shifter karts?

We used to ride our "Go Karts" in the streets of Manhattan Beach, CA, in the late 60's and early 70's. My dad always told me "if I find out you're using it on the streets, I'll cut it into pieces". I got lucky and was never caught!
