Who plays heroic astronaut Jim Lovell in the film "Apollo 13"?

I remember sitting around the t.v. set with my parents and family while we watched, and waited, for the outcome of this in real time! When they were safely recovered we all broke out in cheers, and my mom was crying! T.V. seemed to connect us to the rest of the world back then in a way that I haven't felt in a long time! We also watched the assassinations of JFK and MLK live, as well as their funerals! The emotions pouring through the T.V., (in both directions), seemed so real at the time!

Great movie! Classic! Wonderfully directed and acted. The actual people and their movie actors were very true to the genuine telling of their story.

It was a miracle that they all came back alive. The crew on earth that worked together to bring them home amazing… we need that today. Ron Howard and all the cast was excellent. Such a great movie get your kids to watch

Artie, Yes--But he *wasn't the only "hero"* in the story. The trivia/question itself is totally flawed.

never saw the movie. guessed wrong. not into Hollywood stuff, so I miss most questions like this.

I suppose this is one more example of why 13 is an unlucky number. And for those who claim that this is only a superstition: Don't you think it's a little ironic?

brickmartian, I sure do remember that, too. My grandfather worked in aviation and knew Lovell. He was so happy when they finally made it home!
