How many countries do the Alps stretch across?

The Alps are the youngest, highest, and most densely populated mountain range in Europe. They were formed approximately 44 million years ago. The Alps are also known for their diverse flora and fauna, with thousands of plant and animal species found nowhere else in the world. They're a must-see place at least once in life.

Despite what Wikipedia says, the Alps do not extend into Monaco. The highest point is nearly 165 metres above sea level.
