In ecology, what occurs when predators are overwhelmed by the amount of prey available?

Kind of like some people at buffets.

I'm an ecologist, and this is a terrible definition of feeding frenzy. This one copied from Google is much better "an episode of frantic competition or rivalry for something".

It happens in every zombie movie.
