How many coastal villages comprise Cinque Terre?

In East Sussex and Kent, we have the Cinque Ports. A medieval confederation five port towns in South Eastern England. They were formed to provide ships and men for the King's service. They were Sandwich, Dover, New Romney, Hythe and Hastings. Later the ancient towns ofWinchelsea and Rye were given the privileges of "head ports" Hastings was my home for a very long time.
