Wrong in explanation:
it DOES say not to worship. Adoration, veneration are therefore included

Marcy
images or statues are just picture that as if but your heart that speaks of You and the way you deal w/ others ( my opinion)

Player #Abi_gezunt, if you can read Hebrew, what a blessing that you can!

Vettie, no He didn’t. It’s interesting to note that the catholic bibles “nihil obstat “ (nothing objectionable, in Latin) remove this commandment entirely. I remember Commandments 9 and 10 being “thou shalt not covet thy neighbours wife” and “ thou shalt not covet thy neighbours goods”, turning one commandment into two so that they could remove the true second commandment. Christians don’t serve or bow down to idols, Catholic and Orthodox religions do. In the New Testament we also learn that covetousness is idolatry in Colossians 3:5
So please understand, there is a difference!

Vettie
Mmmmm. How does Christendom explain away all their idols kissed, bowed down to etc. in so called worship of God. After-all, the Almighty God the Jews worshipped back in the OT certainly was the same God Jesus worshipped? He didn’t suddenly change!

Player #Abi_gezunt, I can't read it.🤷🏼♀️
