Which state has the largest number of Mormons?
Correct answer: Utah

WOP
At first glance I thought the question said which state has the most morons? Had an answer for that question too but I will withhold it.

If you enjoy mythology, read about how this religion started.

I am from Utah and I am "Mormon". However the real name is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We are followers of Jesus Christ, not followers of Mormon.

sweetpea1965
NormaLee McMichael, Lived in Utah most of my life, they go by either LDS or Mormon.

WOP, - I would agree with you, except my grandma was Mormon & she was the finest, most decent human being I've ever known. She had crazy beliefs associated with her loyalty to her church, but I can't fault her in any way. She was without fault that I can see.

OldLlama121, they actually started in New York, then Ohio, Missouri, Illinois and finally Utah.

OldLlama121
AJ's mom, it doesnt matter which book..the book was not mentioned..it was which state has the largest amount of members..
they use both books simultaneously..
interestingly, they were originally around southern illinois/st louis..but headed westward after being attacked by various other religious factions

Montana Lady
OldLlama121, no... they were originally out east but their founder, Joseph Smith was killed in Illinois.
*(not Mormon, just lived in Utah long enough to know these things.
Fun fact! the FBI prefers to recruit from BYU, the private Mormon University... innocent & naive in soooo many ways most who excell are ripe for the plucking.)

Hard to find a decent cup of coffee in Utah...or any cup of coffee. All you get is blank stares.

ChoctawCharli
sweetpea1965, Now they want the FULL name used. But stopping others from calling Mormons is going to be a long uphill battle. I married into an LDS family. As a Catholic they were not well pleased when I refused to convert. Haven't spoken to them since they found out my Beloved Husband had converted to Catholic. His funeral was, shall we say, difficult.

emere
ChoctawCharli, Sorry about your los✌️

Player #4250921, Source Google: Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (commonly known as Mormons) are so named because of their belief in the Book of Mormon, a religious work compiled by an ancient prophet named Mormon.

Giggle Pig
Lionessa, i’ve traveled around the world and lived in a number of different countries. It always amazes me that whatever church I attended seem to be a belief that only those people were going to go to heaven.

Giggle Pig
FaithfulReader, I must be really strange. I have respect for whatever people want to believe.

mary
WOP, hahahahaha. i thought that too

So many opinions on LSD. I think to each his/her own when it comes to religion, as long as it doesn't harm anyone or force others to believe if they are not interested.

blackjack
Vince in Camden, The Bible is their primary and most important book.

blackjack
Lionessa, And they are wrong. As a former Mormon, I can tell you the Bible is their primary book and they believe in Jesus Christ as the true Messiah, who died for all sins.

jt
it's the most corrupt church there is. technically it's a business and not a church since it's for profit organization.

nano
I grew up in Utah as a non-Mormon. complicated.

44MysticMind
I couldn't miss this one, I live in Utah. And, by the way, I'm a minority because I'm not Mormon. We also have many FLDS, which are Fundamental Mormon groups that still believe in polygamy and broke off from the LDS (Mormons) of today.

Calypso
Player #21163998, We are just as Christian as anybody w

Lionessa
No dog in this race, but neither the Catholic nor Protestant churches recognize Mormonism as a Christian faith. It is considered a cult.

Leonard

Tjam
WOP, that's a huge W, that made me laugh!

John
Player #38183558, A large percentage of FBI and MP, SP, CID and NCIS, are LDS due to drug free, alcohol free, life style.

Mary J Brockenshire
Montana Lady, they are chosen because they are trustworthy and honest dont drink or smoke or do drugs.

Paco
The name Mormons is misleading. The proper name in members of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
