When did aquathlon, also known as underwater wrestling, emerge?

Does not seem like a wise idea for a sport... but whatever "floats" your boat

sounds more like combat training than a sport...but ooook.

never heard of it but figured it was more recent

We used to play a game called gator, similar to shark, but instead of having to reach the other side untouched, you could wrestle your way to the other side if need be.
