Died at such a young age! He was a great actor and likely would have went on to make many more films if it hadn't been for his untimely demise.

#tdf126, When fired, yes. But sometimes they are loaded with Dummy rounds (a bullet with no powder) for close-ups. The 44 magnum being used in the film had the bullet of a Dummy round stuck in the barrel when they changed from close-ups to the firing scene. So when the blank was fired the bullet was expelled at near normal velocity.

Something like this just happened today Oct 21, 2021-on a movie set. Alec Baldwin was the shooter! Tragic!

I heard his death was not an accident, but who knows 🤷either way it's sad.

So sad. When added to the accident on the Rust set last month, it shows that live ammo should never be near a set. Dwayne Johnson has said that any productions his company is involved with will no longer use real guns. He says, and is correct, that the effects can be CGI now.
