Which family of fictional languages were adapted for the "Game of Thrones" TV series?

I'm surprised that this isn't full of polar opposite comments saying either "best TV show ever" or "I've never seen an episode". That's how it seems for any other question about Games of Thrones.

I've never seen this show, but that seemed the best answer.

Read the books, watched the series. Consigned the lot to the back of the shelf.
