Which famous scientist introduced the idea of natural selection?
Correct answer: Charles Darwin
CaptainDudels
it doesn't take "faith" to believe an evidence based theory, much like gravity doesn't require faith to believe in.
Why play a game based on knowledge if you choose to be willfully ignorant? You have the world's knowledge at your fingertips.
As for the comment about one species changing to another, that's not how evolution works. It's small changes that offer a creature a better survival chance that are passed on, over billions of years. As above though, you have the world's knowledge at your fingertips, there's no excuse to be ignorant, even if some holy book tells you otherwise.
You have nothing to lose through learning.

Both science and religion are true to the human endeavor, and each person can relate to either or both. Both have good and bad aspects, rights and wrongs. Religion brings some people confidence and courage in many the same ways science does for others.
one does not discount the other, society and culture embraces both so whatever path you take, try to enjoy it without resentment as life is a gift worth enjoying (science and religion would both agree with this).

CaptainDudels, people have different beliefs. just because someone has faith in god or a higher being and doesn't have the same views as you does not make them ignorant. it makes them an individual. so please have some class and stop with the insults.
Fun guy
why accept science of medicine, physics, chemistry .. & then refuse evolution & DNA ?

CaptainDudels,
Cozzy 25,
I’m a Christian, but I agree with you. As far as I’m concerned, natural selection doesn’t clash with my faith. 😎

Top 5: Global Trivia, no it hasn't. There is plenty of evidence for evolution but no evidence at all for intelligent creation.

Davy, Livingston,
Never happened. Darwin never recanted anything. That story is pure fiction.

Jew for Yeshua, that is not true. scientists can perform repeatable experiments proving evolutionary theory on bacterial colonies.
President Adams
Came for the comments, was not disappointed. when my grown daughter, close to genius, got caught up in some of her friends religion stuff, and even tried to convert me, she was a huge fan of science, so we had that discussion. She asked about it and was more or less told to have faith. That was the end of religion. My story is, Baptist 6000 year old Earth..... me, "what about the dinosaurs".
Maestra
How did I know- even before I looked- there would be a bunch of vitriolic comments back and forth about religion vs. science. This is a game and the question is a science one. Period.

cannoli1966, I think you've missed the point captain Duddels is trying to explain the understanding around how evolution functions , there doesn't seem to be any reference to religion etc.
I struggle to understand where there is any conflict between religion & evolution, both are completely separate fields, unless I've missed something..
