Which musician is often referred to as the greatest composer of all times?
Correct answer: Johann Sebastian Bach
Stephanie.S.
There would be a few other contenders for that title, but they weren't options. Mozart and Beethoven came to mind.

Weird vague and misleading question... "often" called the greatest composer is just far too subjective. Citing one poll isn't "often". Often and usually Beethoven would be cited, with Mozart up there somewhere too.

Bach was a genious composer and lived in Leipzig, Saxony from 1823 till his death in 1850. He was the cantor of 4 prosyant churches there. When we lived on Berlin, we visited one of them, Thomas Kirche. He had 20 children from 2 wives.

174 "living" composers? really?

Not a trick question, but a silly one . We can not say Bach was greater when we have Beethoven, Verdi, Tchaykovski, Mozart and so many more. All of them great, in different ways, but great!

Vince in Camden, And what about Mozart!??

Stephanie.S., Mozart is the more recognizable, popular one. He iwas a genius, he composed a concerto at the age of 4!!!
ray
Stephanie.S., In my it's Mozart, by virtue that his works are easily recognizable by the lay man.
