We were introduced to this little-known culinary gem a few years back. Being surrounded by a very rural area, we do, at times, have a unique opportunity to have fresh honey, vegetables, fruits, eggs, meats, etc. practically right out our front door. A farmer friend brought down a large basket of fresh foods & goodies (zucchini bread, honey squares, etc), FOC & had us try the Kohlrabi. It was, & still is, so very delicious! Unfortunately, this friend & his mother died months apart, haven't had this gastronomical beauty since, due to unavailability & memory association. (RIP Steve & Ramona, we all miss you dearly).

A year round staple in Germany. It's delicious grated raw in a noodle yogurt salad.
