Hiqq, I lived there for two years. It's true. The isthmus turns northward in such a way that, for that part of Panama, the Pacific is actually to the east-southeast and the Atlantic is to the northwest. It's weird, yes, and seems to defy logic, but it's true. I sat on the beach on the Pacific, watching the pelicans skim the water as the sun turned orange over my right shoulder.

Got the question correct but thought it was because Panama was on the Equator.
