Fascinating how they can carbon date fossils from thousands of years ago!

Kiwozzie, At the least it takes 10000 years for something to fossilize. Most carbon dating is done by using organic material found in the same strata as the fossil (risky if the earth has not been excavated scientifically) but a fossil itself cannot be effectively carbon dated unless it is an organic material and less than 60000 years old.
