What is the outgrowth on the head of a cassowary called?

We have them here in Oz.

Lovely bird but a bit scary, very imposing, not like emu.

Blacktulip23, Scary is correct. I remember a story that an owner of one of these birds was killed by the bird when he went into their pen.
